Chapter I
The Maggie’s Farm Concept
In October, Jeff Cala and Mark McDonough purchased the former Rock’s/Gaven’s/Daniel Fuller house. Inspired by all the farms in the area and our love of counter-culture music, we decided to name it after Dylan’s famous song that he penned when he broke out of the Folk establishment and went electric. Our concept is to build a fun place for people in the tri-town area to hang out with each other, eat great food, quaff craft beers on draft, listen to inspiring music, and make the personal connections that make life worth living.
Inspired by the farm theme, we went out and purchased a classic 1953 International Harvester Tractor to become the icon of the restaurant. The interior will be one big room, covered with recycled barn board from a dismantled 1700’s barn, and filled with barn lights.

Chapter II
What’s it Going to Look Like?
Here’s a photoshop of our proposed new look.
The floor plan for Maggie’s Farm has a huge oval bar made from repurposed 1700 farm boards. The bar will have 12 taps of draft beer—including many craft brews from small local brewers. Part of the bar is a dedicated sushi bar that will create incredibly creative sushi for the whole restaurant.
The dining room seats 62 people with lots of flexibility to create parties of 6, 8, and 12 people. We heard that folks in Middleton like to travel in packs. : ) That's particularly exciting to Mark who sees restaurants as part of his personal mission to create infrastructure for weaving communities. Before getting into the restaurant business he co-founded the Farmers' Market in Gloucester and built a website for neighbors to exchange services www.timebanks.org. We have designed in a semi-private dining room with a fireplace and an iron Moorish chandelier that casts geometric shadows all over the room. The rest of the restaurant will have lots of farmhouse lights.
There is a stage a Sunday folk/jazz brunch and small bands that will play on Saturday nights after 9PM — everything from folk to rock to jazz. Does anyone know a Dylan impersonator?
